Southern Pan-Fried Okra
Ingredients
- 3 T Olive Oil
- 1 lb. fresh okra, stems trimmed, cut into ½-inch pieces
- 3/4 tsp. sea salt
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 1/3 cup yellow cornmeal
- 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
Step by Step Instructions
STEP 1
Place oil in medium-size skillet, and heat over medium-high.
STEP 2
Place cut okra in skillet and stir to coat. Cover and cook, stirring occasionally, about 10 minutes. Sprinkle okra with salt and pepper.
STEP 3
Add cornmeal and cayenne pepper and stir to coat. Cook, uncovered, stirring occasionally,until okra is tender and browned, about 6 minutes.
