Shepherd’s Pie

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 lbs potatoes (3-4 large)
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1/2 cup each: diced carrots, corn, English peas
  • 1 lb beef tips or ground sirlion
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire
  • 1 teaspoon season salt

Step by Step Instructions

STEP 1
Peel, cube and boil pototoes – about 20 minutes

STEP 2
Saute onion & vegetables in 4 Tablespoons butter – about 10 minutes
STEP 3
Cook beef, add Worcestershire and broth- simmer 10 minutes 

STEP 4
Mash pototoes with remaining 4 Tablespoons butter.
STEP 5
Layer meat, then vegetables, then pototoes in 9×13 baking dish.
STEP 6
Bake 400 degrees about 30 minutes.
