Hobo Dinners

Mrs. Helen Van Lierop made these on weekends when I was growing up and practically lived at my friend Renee’s house, so my kids also grew up with them!


  • 1 lb ground chuck or ground sirloin, form into 4 patties

  • 4 medium pototoes, cut into slices

  • Small package baby carrots

  • 1 sweet onion, sliced

  • OPTIONAL can corn or green peas

  • Worcestershire sauce

  • Salt and pepper or use Nature’s seasoning
  • Heavy Duty Aluminum Foil


1 – Preheat oven to 350 degrees

2 – Cut 4 large squares of foil

3 – Place 1 beef patty, pototoes, carrots, onion, other veggies, sprinkle all with seasonings.

4 – Wrap each into foil package and place on cookie sheet

5 – Bake for 30 minutes
